Traditional surgery

  • Surgical treatment of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms: application and prospective evaluation of the short, medium and long-term results of thoracoabdominal aneurysms surgery after the introduction of organ protection techniques particularly aimed at renal protection and the study of pathophysiology and anatomy of the medullary vasculature.
  • Participation in the European SAFROS (Patient Safety in Robotic Surgery) and I-SUR (Intelligent Surgical Robotics) projects for the application of robotic intelligence to surgery for the de nition of safety features for the patient undergoing vascular surgery.

Endovascular treatment

  • Endovascular treatment of aortic arch aneurysms: development, application and retrospective analysis of the results of the endovascular approach of the aortic arch.
  • Acute and chronic aortic dissections: evaluation of urgent and elective treatment with a surgical or endovascular approach and participation in major clinical trials for evaluation of speci c devices in the treatment of aortic dissections (Zenith Dissection System).
  • Endovascular treatment of thoracoabdominal aneurysms: retrospective evaluation of the applicability and of the clinical and surgical results of endovascular treatment of thoracic-abdominal aneurysms.
  • Endovascular treatment of thoracic aneurysms: international non-randomized multicenter study on the use of low-pro le ZENITH Cook TX endoprosthesis and retrospective analysis of the results with the main commercial endoprosthesis and active collaboration with companies for the design of new devices.
  • Endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms: participation in major clinical trials of pre- commercialization of new aortic endoprosthesis and multicenter randomized post-marketing trials.
