Di Muzio is coordinator of the Italian Brachytherapy Group and member of the European Tomotherapy Steering Committee to promote innovative RT by using High Technology, contributing to build and maintain a scientific connection among Italian and European scientists to share knowledge and infrastructure. She is adjunct professor at the Università degli Studi in Milan, Italy, where she provides to development of educational programs as supervisor of Medical Students/Residents in Radiation Oncology. She is the head of the Radiation Oncology Department at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan; Therapeutics Member of Scientific Board of the Istituto per la Ricerca e la Cura del Cancro in Candiolo (TO) and active member of Scientific Board of CNAO ( Italian Institute of Adrotherapy/Pavia).

Her main fields of research:

  • Radiation treatment (RT) of prostate cancer
  • Brachytherapy
  • Radiobiological studies to define biochemical markers correlated with effectiveness of radiation therapy in particular with hypofractionation
  • PET/CT research on functional and molecular imaging for in vivo studies in oncology in particular development of guidelines for PET/CT with 18(FDG) and 11C-Colina for biological target volume definition in RT

Nadia Di Muzio is author of 150 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and abstracts for international meetings. She is a reviewer of the most important scientific journals in Radiation Oncology: International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics, Radiation Oncology and Journal of Cancer Research.
