Barbara has obtained her MSc from the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2021.  

During her master's degree internship, she joined the Experimental Hepatology Unit at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Hospital in 2020 to work on the use of the cytokines IFN-alfa as a preventive strategy for liver colorectal cancer metastases.  

Currently, she is part of the Proteome Biochemistry Lab and aims to study Aceruloplasminemia (Acp), a rare genetic disease characterized by iron accumulation in the brain that promotes neurodegeneration.
