Translational Genetics
Research activity
NGS technologies applied to cancer genetics offer extraordinary opportunities towards personalized approaches to cancer prevention, surveillance, and care. Accurate classification of sequence variants and responsible communication of test results are crucial for informed decision-making. The main goal of the newly established Translational Genetics Research Area will be to advance knowledge of cancer predisposition, addressing issues relevant to the interpretation, classification, reporting, and actionability of germline sequence variants in cancer susceptibility genes.
