Bioinformatic technician, Bioinformatics
Alexandre is a software developer working at the Center for Omics Sciences at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. He loves life science, sci-tech and applications in multidisciplinary fields. He strives for bringing good practices and quality tools in reproducible analysis workflows in Bioinformatics. He works using agile development and DevOps practices.
Starting with a high school science of engineering background, Alexandre quenched his thirst for biology by undertaking a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines. A self-taught programmer, he then bridged biology with computer sciences with an MSc in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at Université Paris-Sud d'Orsay. He kept growing software development skills during his master's thesis on building a platform for high-throughput image analysis pipelines at the Center for Molecular Biology at Heidelberg University (ZMBH). Upon graduating, he decided to get more advanced in software development and DevOps and worked as a software engineer at Klee Group in Plessis-Robinson. Strengthened by and satisfied with the experience, he has finally come back to the Bioinformatics field to give it his humble share of contribution in advancing the field.
