Marco Bregni graduated in Medicine in Milan in 1979, and specializes in Hematology and Oncology. He has been a fellow at Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He has worked at Istituto Nazionale Tumori, Milano, and at Istituto San Raffaele. His main interest is the development of cellular terapies for hematological and solid tumors. He has pioneered the use of peripheral blood stem cells for autologous transplant, and allogeneic stem cell transplantation as adoptive immunotherapy for chemotherapy-refractory solid tumors. He has been the Chairperson of the Solid Tumour Working Party of the EBMT and the President of the 2014 EBMT Annual Meeting in Milano. During his career he has published 185 peer-reviewed papers, and has attracted research funds for more than a million Euros. He has been an active member of the Independent Ethics Committee at San Raffaele since 2013.
