Senior technician, PROMEFA
Cinzia Magagnotti is a senior technician at ProMeFa (Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility) in the Center of Omics Sciences at IRCCS-Ospedale San Raffaele.
She worked from 1984 to 2004 at “Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research” in Milan, in “Molecular Toxicology Laboratory, where she obtained from Regione Lombardia, the specialization as “Biochemical Research Technician”. She was involved in several molecular epidemiology studies to evaluate the effects of exposition to xenobiotic by molecular dosimetry and mass spectrometry. She was also participating in pharmacogenetics studies aimed at determining individual genetic polymorphisms associated with the exposure to carcinogenic compounds. She was taking part in toxic-proteomics research by using 2DE and mass spectrometry. She has developed robust expertise in sample preparation and solid know-how in mass spectrometry analysis.
In 2004 she moved to San Raffaele Hospital in Clinical Proteomics Unit, headed by Prof. Servis. In 2010 she joined, as a senior technician, the Protein Microsequencing Facility (ProMiFa) guided by Dr Annapaola Andolfo. She is involved in different research projects on sera, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, total cell extracts, tissues, applying targeted and untargeted proteomics and metabolomics approach, in collaboration with many physicians and scientists from IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele as well as from other national and international research institutions.
