Transposase genes are the most widespread genes in nature. They drive evolution and are responsible for organic complexity on Earth.

My project is focused on utilizing transposase-containing hybrid proteins to study cancer initiation and progression. Working in a team with the colleagues from the Center for Omics Sciences (COSR),  who invented the GET-seq single cell technology, we are developing a new single cell genomic tool for early diagnosis and assessment of the severity of cancer.  We will apply unique properties of retrotransposons to study initiation, progression, and severity of cancer as well as to develop novel cancer diagnostic tools and treatments.
