Business Development
The Business Development of Research Unit is in charge for fostering and developing Ospedale San Raffaele’s research into new solutions for patients and consumers, raising awareness on the benefits of industry collaboration and promoting an entrepreneurial culture among scientists.
Ospedale San Raffaele, with over 1200 scientists and engineers, within research divisions, institutes, centers, and core facilities, has a wide scope of research outcomes spanning from therapeutics and diagnostics to medical devices and technologies for supporting health and wellbeing.
Activities
The main goal of the BD Unit is to lead and conduct the innovation process, adding value to the outstanding research developed at Ospedale San Raffaele in the lifescience field, including biomedical, medtech and digital health.
Therefore BD is engaged in the activities of:
- Scouting, evaluation, protection and management of intellectual property rights
- Licensing of intellectual property rights and know-how
- Creation and management of spin off and joint venture in the life science sector
- Negotiation and management of industry collaborations
- Material and animal transfer agreements.
