The Business Development Division is responsible for fostering and developing Ospedale San Raffaele’s research into new solutions for patients and consumers, raising awareness on the benefits of industry collaboration and promoting an entrepreneurial culture among scientists.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to valorize the intellectual property generated by research results across all life science fields (biotech, medtech, healthtech). Through strategic partnerships with industry and the financial sector, we aim to transform research into tangible products that address unmet clinical needs. Our commitment is to generate significant clinical impacts, economic returns, and to position GSD's IRCCS as a leader in healthcare innovation.

Activities

The main goal of the BD Unit is to lead and conduct the innovation process, adding value to the outstanding research developed at Ospedale San Raffaele in the lifescience field, encompassing biomedical, medtech and digital health.

Therefore the BD is engaged in the activities of:

Scouting, evaluation, protection and management of intellectual property rights
Material and Animal Transfer Agreements
Licensing of intellectual property rights and know-how
Creation and management of spin off and joint venture in the life science sector

Negotiation and management of industry collaborations
