As stated by the World Health Organization, oral health is essential to general health and quality of life. The Research Area in Oral and Implant Sciences gathers together researchers and physicians working on biomaterials, oral implantology as well as dental surgery, to improve prevention and treatments of oral pathologies and dysfunctions, with a specific interest in oral prosthesis and postoncological rehabilitation. Other relevant fields of interest are the early diagnosis in oral oncology, the markers of progression of oral premalignant conditions, the relationships between oral biofilms, oral diseases and systemic conditions.
