Alessia Cristiano, Biomedical Engineer, got a BSc (2012) and a MSc (2015) degree cum laude in Biomedical Engineering at the Polytechnic School “Federico II” in Naples. She discussed the experimental thesis “Foot clearance estimation during overground walking and obstacle negotiation using wearable magnetic-inertial sensors in healthy and pathological subjects”. Later, she obtained the professional qualification for the practice of the profession of engineer from the Order of Engineers in Naples. In 2015, she started an internship in Center for advanced technology in health and wellbeing at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan where she continues her research and testing activities as junior research scientist. Currently, she is involved in two EU projects within H2020 Program.
Her research interests include biomechanics, development of algorithms for human movement analysis based on wearable technologies and inertial sensors and testing of new IoT solutions in healthcare.
