Alan has graduated in Neurobiology at the University of Pavia, working at the Prion lab (Neuroscience Department, Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research, Milano). Then, he moved to the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where he obtained a PhD in Experimental Neurology. During his doctoral fellow, he investigated the therapeutic potential of ceruloplasmin administration in the rare disease aceruloplasminemia, at the Proteome Biochemistry lab. Currently, he is working on brain barrier models, to highlight the involvement of the brain-cerebrospinal fluid barrier in aceruloplasminemia.
