Cesare Covino obtained his degree in Biological Sciences at State University of Milan, in 2003. His graduation work was related to Ecological applications of aquatic microinvertebrates (phylum Rotifera) in the field of Environmental Microbiology.

In 2005 he joined the Staff of the Microscopy Facility A.L.E.M.B.I.C. (Advanced Light and Electron Microscopy BioImaging Center, Director: Prof. Fabio Grohovaz) at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, where he currently holds the role of Facility Manager and he's the coordinator of the whole part of Optical Microscopy of the Facility. In this role, his research deals with the development and utilization of microscopy and imaging technologies and to provide researchers with access and continuous support to the most important state-of-the-art techniques in cellular imaging.
