description

The ImageXpress Micro Confocal Imaging System (from Molecular Device) is a high content widefield and confocal imaging and analysis system from Molecular Devices designed for fast and automated screening of fluorescently labeled biological samples.

Key features of the instrument are:

- fiber optic light guide, 5 LEDs light sources, and five filter sets (DAPI, FITC, Cy3, TexasRed, Cy5) for acquisition of multiple wavelength fluorescent images

- laser-based and image-based autofocus, precise motorized stage and 16bit CMOS camera that allow the

acquisition of large numbers of high-resolution images in a very short time

- the environmental control module for acquisition of images of live cells and the fluidics and compound

addition option for kinetics cellular response studies

- the 60µm pinhole spinning disk that ensures confocal acquisition of 2D and 3D samples

Both image acquisition and analysis are under the control of the MetaXpress High-Content Image Acquisition and Analysis Software. In terms of image analysis, the software is provided with different application modules for routine analysis and a Custome Module Editor for advanced and customized analysis
