CytoFLEX LX, offers up to six lasers and 21 fluorescent channels, delivers even more parameters with the same exceptional fluorescence sensitivity and superior nanoparticle detection (is able to detect particles smaller than 200 nm within a phenotypic context).
The Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM) relies on fiber optics and band pass filters to separate the light wavelengths. Unlike more traditional instruments, multiple dichroic filters to direct the light path are not required. This makes it much easier to configure the fluorescence channels, but also increases light efficiency as light loss due to refraction is minimized.
The WDM utilizes Avalanche Photodiode detectors (APD), versus Photomultiplier tubes (PMT).
