Dr. Matteo Bellone obtained an M.D. degree (with honors) and was Board Certified in Allergology and Clinical Immunology at the Università degli Studi di Milano, Milan, Italy.

He had a 3-year post-doctoral training in autoimmunity at the University of Minnesota (MN, USA) working with Dr. Bianca Conti-Fine.

Since the early nineties he has been active in the fields of cancer immunology and immunotherapy, with a focus on mouse models of prostate cancer, melanoma, and multiple myeloma. He is also involved in human research, and acts has principal investigator in clinical trials.

He is Head of the Cellular Immunology Unit at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele (Milan, Italy), where he also practices as medical consultant in Clinical Immunology.

He is adjunct professor of Immunology at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan.

He serves as Associate Editor at Frontiers in Immunology and Frontiers in Oncology, and as member of several boards of scientific journals and charities.

He has been Secretary and Treasurer of the Network Italiano per la BioTerapia dei Tumori (NIBIT) association, and currently holds a position as Council Member of the European Network for Cancer Immunotherapy (ENCI). He has contributed to the organization of several international scientific meetings. He is member of the Società Italiana di Immunologia, Immunologia Clinica ed Allergologia (SIICA), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the International Myeloma Society (IMS).
