Marco has obtained his PhD in Matteo Iannacone’s lab at San Raffaele Scientific Institute (SRSI), Milan, Italy. After that, he trained as a Post Doc Fellow in Jason Cyster’s lab (HHMI), at University of California San Francisco (UCSF), San Francisco, CA. Marco is an expert of viral immunology, spatial trascriptomics, immune cell migration, mucosal immunity and G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Marco has published several research papers on the most prestigious scientific journals, such as Science, Nature Immunology, Cell, Immunity, Science Immunology. Marco is now Group Leader at SRSI, and his research aims to unravel the pivotal roles of molecular pathways that drive immune cell migration and regionalization in both mucosal tissues and cancer. Marco has been awarded with the most prestigious national and international research grants such as the Giovanni Armenise Harvard foundation Career Development Award, AIRC Start-Up Grant and an ERC Starting Grant from European Research Council.
