Fatemeh Kordevani is a bioinformatician at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele (Milan) in Luca Vago’s Lab (Unit of Immunogenetics, Leukemia Genomics and Immunobiology) and the Center for Omics Sciences. She collaborates with wet-lab researchers on projects focused on Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) relapse after transplantation.
Her work primarily involves:
- Analyzing RNA sequencing and clinical data to uncover insights into AML relapse.
- Conducting an in-depth study of the GITMO-RELAPSE cohort, contributing to the creation of patient-specific Relapsograms—comprehensive visualizations of oncogenic and immunological features of AML relapses.
- Investigating the impact of Ganciclovir antiviral therapy on AML relapse.
- Benchmarking various cell type deconvolution methods for transcriptomic data analysis leveraging single-cell sequencing data for prediction and validation.
Fatemeh holds a Master of Science in Medical Biotechnologies from the University of Padua (UNIPD), where she completed a thesis in bioinformatics on the role of intrinsically disordered proteins in neurodevelopmental disorders. She later continued at UNIPD as a research fellow, focusing on protein-level variants and epigenetic characteristics in Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Intellectual Disability. Her work integrated insights from multiple biomedical databases, and she contributed to the development of DisProtDB.
