Cesare Maffei obtained a degree in Medicine, a Post-doctoral degree in Psychiatry, Psychotherapist.
He is Founder and President of the Italian Association for the Study of Personality Disorders (AISDP), branch of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (ISSPD). He has been President of the ISSPD and he is the current president of the Italian Society for the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (SIDBT).
Since 1998 he is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, School of Psychology.
Since 2000 he is full Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, School of Psychology.
Since 1988 he is Chief of the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Unit of the Department of Neuropsychiatric Sciences of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, Milan.
From 1986 to 1998 he has been Associate Professor of Medical Psychology at the Institute of Psychology of the School of Medicine, University of Milan.
