Flavia Valtorta is Professor of Pharmacology at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele Medical School in Milan and Head of the Research Unit of Neuropsychoharmacology at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. Previously, she was Member of the Adjunct Faculty at The Rockefeller University (New York) and Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Bari, as well as Director of the Division of Neuroscience.
Flavia Valtorta has been working for more than twenty years on synaptic function, contributing to the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms that underlie the phenomena of synaptic maturation and neurotransmitter release. In the past several years, she has contributed a relevant body of information concerning some of the key molecules involved in these processes.
