Dr. Quattrini served at San Raffaele Hospital for 28 years as a Neurologist and Neuropathologist. He was trained as a neuropathologist first with Dr Nemni at San Raffaele Hospital, and later with Prof Hays and Latov at Columbia University. He became an expert in pathological aspects of the human neuropathy and motor neuron disease. He contributed to build the Nerve Biopsy Service at San Raffaele Hospital. Since 2001, he is its Director. He pioneered the use of motor nerve biopsies for the diagnosis of motor neuron disease. Since 1993, he developed an interest in experimental models of central nervous system and peripheral nervous system disorders. The main scientific contributions are in the fields of motor neuron disease, neuropathies and nerve regeneration. He is author of 195 papers, H-index 56, 10160 citations (Scopus).
