Alessandra Bolino is Group Leader of the Human Inherited Neuropathies Unit at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute and Associate Professor of Applied Biology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. She also serves as Vice-Coordinator of the International PhD Course in Molecular Medicine within the University's School of Medicine.
She earned her degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Genoa and her PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Turin, with research training in Paris and Lyon, France. She completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford, UK. From 2001 to 2012, she was appointed Assistant and later Associate Telethon Scientist through the Fondazione Telethon career program.
Prof. Bolino has been elected President of the Peripheral Nerve Society (USA) for the 2025–2027 term.
