Andrea Salonia is a Full Professor of Urology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy, where he also serves as the Dean of Studies of the International Medical Doctor Program (IMDP) and the Co-Coordinator of the PhD Curriculum in Clinical and Experimental Medicine.

Andrea Salonia is the Director of URI-Urological Research Institute of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, Italy, where he also serves as the Head of the Male Sexual and Reproductive Medicine Program.

Andrea Salonia is the current Chairman of the EAU Guidelines panel on Sexual and Reproductive health.

Over the last decades, his major research interests have been focused on the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of male sexual and reproductive health, with a targeted translational approach. Over his career, the scientific production predominantly focused on the following main topics: i) Epidemiology, socio-demography, physiopathology, diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of male sexual dysfunction; ii) Translational research, demography and clinical physiopathology of male reproduction; iii) Functional urology and neuro-urology in multiple-sclerosis patients; iv) Functional urology and surgery of bladder outlet obstruction; v) Epidemiology, socio-demography, physiopathology, and diagnosis of female sexual dysfunction; vi) Translational and clinical experimental and surgical treatment of non-muscle and muscle-invasive bladder cancer; vii) Sexual and reproductive outcomes of testicular cancer and penile cancer survivors; viii) Surgery of organ-confined and locally-advanced prostate cancer – Rehabilitation programs; and, ix) Hormonal biology and physiopathology of organ-confined and locally – advanced prostate cancer.
