Two fellowship positions are immediately available in the Axo-Glia interaction Unit headed by Carla Taveggia at Division of Neuroscience, San Raffaele Hospital, Milan - Italy to work on perineurial invasion in pancreaticadenocarcinoma. Our lab combines advanced cell biology approaches to investigate the complex relationship between glial cells and axons occurring in the nervoussystem during physiological and pathological conditions.

Successful candidates will have the unique opportunity to integrate cellbiology of the nervous system with that of the pancreas in a project aiming atdissecting the role of perineurial invasion at cancer onset and growth. To accomplish these goals we will combine in vitro and in vivo approaches using 3D multi-organ system (pancreatic organoids - dorsal root ganglia neurons immune cells) already developed in the laboratory. The project stems from an already multi disciplinary ongoing collaboration with several groups at San Raffaele Hospital

We are looking for proactive and motivated candidates with demonstrated scientific track record and with previous experience either in nervous system orin tumor biology. Additional experience in confocal imaging and in 3D culturemodels will be considered a plus. Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year position with possible extension up to 3 years. Salary will be negotiated based on candidates' experience.
