Donatella Biancolini is a research technician at the Center for Omics Sciences at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, Milano (Italy).
She earned a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Messina (110/110 cum laude) and a postgraduate degree in Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology at University of Milano (70/70 cum laude). From 1999 to 2001, she worked at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in the diagnostic laboratory of Molecular Biology (under the supervision of Dr Maurizio Ferrari), focusing on Sanger sequencing of POL gene mutation in patients affected by HIV virus. From 2002 to 2004 she worked in INT (Istituto Nazionale Tumori), Milan (Italy) in the lab of Nuclear Medicine of Dr Ettore Seregni, focusing on the evaluation of analytical and diagnostic characterization of tumoral markers. From 2004 to 2013 she worked at Bicocca University, Milan, within the Genopolis Consortium (Prof. Paola Ricciardi-Castagnoli), dealing with gene expression analysis, SNP analysis and pharmacogenomics, using and managing Affymetrix microarray platform.
