Researcher, Innovation Lab
Giulia Petrovich is a researcher at the Innovation Lab of the Center for Omics Sciences, where she is responsible for implementing spatial omics methods.
After earning her MSc in biology applied to biomedical research at the Università degli Studi of Milan, she worked at the UCL Cancer Institute in London and then completed her PhD in molecular biology at the University of Edinburgh. Her research focused on unveiling new mechanisms of transcriptional regulation that determine cell fate, transformation, and tissue maintenance.
Following her PhD, she moved to Switzerland to join an academic publisher as an editor of an open-access journal, diving into the world of peer review, publication ethics, and science communication. After moving to Berlin in 2018, she combined her passion for research and scientific writing by starting a freelance scientific editing project. Life finally brought her back to Milan in 2023 when she joined the Innovation Lab team.
Thanks to her experiences in and outside the lab, Giulia not only has strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology but also in scientific writing and proposal evaluation, so she is more than happy to help anyone both with their omics and writing endeavours.
