Davide Cittaro

Davide Cittaro is the coordinator of the λ-lab at the Center for Omics Sciences. He holds a degree in Biotechnology (UniMI, Milan, Italy), a Master's degree in Bioinformatics (UniMiB, Milan, Italy) and a PhD in Complex Systems for Life Sciences (UniTO, Turin, Italy).
Davide started his path in bioinformatics as research fellow at the FIRC Institute for Molecular Oncology (IFOM) in Milan in the group of Juri Rappsilber, where he developed the first computational strategy to analyze MS/MS spectra of cross-linked peptides and identify protein-protein interactions from mass spectrometry data. He moved in the IT department to earn expertise in high performance computing, a set of skills that were readily applied to the analysis of NGS data when he moved to the Genomic Unit as data scientist. In 2011 he moved to OSR as Head of Bioinformatics in the newly founded Center for Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics (now COSR), coordinating and supporting the computational analysis in several projects. In 2016 he joined the Innovation Lab where he contributed to the development of scGET-seq, a novel technology to stdy chromatin accessibility, and the computational framework needed to process its data. He his the main developer of schist, a Python library to study single cells with Stochastic Block Models.
