Stefano de Pretis is a bioinformatician with a background in Molecular Biology gained through a Bachelor of Science at the University of Milano Bicocca. At the same University, he earned a Master of Science in Bioinformatics. Later, he obtained a PhD in the same subject at the University of Sannio (Benevento), focusing on the dynamical aspects of Biological Systems. Specifically, he has given insight into the dynamical characterization of chemical and biochemical reaction networks. During his postdoc at the Epigenomics and Transcriptional Regulation lab in the Center for Genomic Science of Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), he has developed computational methods for analyzing the dynamic life cycle of the RNA in healthy and disease conditions.
From 2021, he has joined the Center for Omics Sciences at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. Within the Center, he is dedicated to the Neuroscience Research Division's support from a bioinformatics perspective.
