Patrizia Rovere Querini is an internist and immunologist with over 20 years of experience in scientific research. She is specialised in the mechanisms linking tissue damage to persistent low-grade inflammation in complex chronic human diseases.
Her interest in complexity is revealed in various fields of scientific research, including the mechanisms driving muscle mass loss in elderly patients (particularly in conditions of nutritional excess), the immunology of conception and pregnancy, and the development of complex digital systems for managing comorbid patients.
She is the author and co-author of over 360 publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, cited more than 24,500 times. With an H-index of 84, she ranks among the most cited Italian scientists in the fields of immunology and internal medicine (data from Scopus, November 2024).
