Tiziano Di Tomaso has a background in Biotechnologies. In 2008, he obtained a PhD in Oncology, from the University of Bologna (Italy). In 2009, he started working at Ospedale San Raffaele in the immuno-oncology field and then in 2010 he joined SR-Tiget as Postdoctoral Fellow. In 2012, he decided to transition to Laboratory Management and started to oversee several aspects of the operational activity of Professor Luigi Naldini's laboratory. In particular, he focused on research sustainability, ensuring workflow optimization and a decrease in management costs for the laboratory. In February 2020, he completed a Master in Hospital Management at the University of Bergamo and he progressed to the role of Research Operations Manager at SR-Tiget. In this position, he coordinates a small group of people who ensure the provision of essential services for the Institute's daily operations. He also interacts with several operational areas of Ospedale San Raffaele to deal with issues such as personnel safety, infrastructure problems and the management of large scientific instruments. Tiziano also liaises with SR-Tiget senior Staff members to propose new operational projects, increasing the value of research and decreasing its costs. Finally, at SR-Tiget Tiziano is holding a role in the management of the operational aspects related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
