BIO

Marco Moschini, MD, PhD, is a Urologist and clinical researcher at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, where he focuses on clinical care and research in urologic oncology, focusing particularly in bladder and upper urinary tract tumors. He earned his medical degree with honors from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, completed a PhD in Experimental Surgery at the University of Magna Graecia, and finalized his residency in Urology in Switzerland. Dr. Moschini completed several international fellowships, including a research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA, a clinical fellowship at AKH (Allgemeines Krankenhaus) in Vienna, and a robotic uro-oncologic surgery fellowship at Hôpital Montsouris in Paris. Author of over 500 peer-reviewed publications, he is actively engaged in the international urologic community. He currently serves as Chair of the Bladder Cancer Group within the Young Academic Urologists (YAU) Working Group of the European Association of Urology (EAU). Research Activity

Marco Moschini, MD, PhD focuses his research primarily on urothelial cancer (bladder and upper urinary tract), with an emphasis on surgical management, prognostic modeling, and international collaborative outcomes research. His work includes major contributions to the understanding of bladder cancer staging and histological variants, as well as the optimization of surgical approaches in high-risk localized and advanced disease.

His research has been continuously supported by competitive, non-profit grants, including those from national and international funding bodies, with collaborative efforts across Europe. He is deeply involved in projects coordinated by the European Association of Urology (EAU) and is a key member of multinational consortia studying bladder cancer, especially high-risk populations.

Dr. Moschini has led and co-authored several multi-institutional studies on topics such as variant histologies, lymph node dissection, and oncologic outcomes following radical and cystectomy. He is actively engaged in the development of evidence-based clinical models, aimed at refining patient selection and improving decision-making in urologic oncology.

In his academic leadership role, he currently serves as Chair of the Bladder Cancer Working Group of the EAU Young Academic Urologists (YAU), where he coordinates large-scale projects dedicated to improving understanding and treatment of urothelial malignancies.
Dr. Moschini's ongoing research includes novel prognostic tools, biomarkers of response to local and systemic therapy, and outcomes of minimally invasive surgery in high-risk bladder and patients.
